Using WordPress as a membership site; using membership sites as revenue generator

The mysterious Seth W. ((By which we mean there’s no bio on the site for us to link to)), has written two very helpful posts on Blogussion.

Membership Sites: Can You Make Money from Them? is actually about two things:

Using WordPress as a membership site – with its native capabilities, and with some plugins. The answer – depending on the content and/or the audience – yes!.

But we’d like to add that using WordPress as a membership site also lends itself to other non-business functions: group collaboration and discussion, political campaign planning, all sorts of business and NGO collaboration, and, we think, just another example – as a tool for coordinating litigation.
