About WordPressBlue
This website is an outgrowth of my mostly self-taught education in using WordPress. I was fortunate to have a dear friend recommend the hosting service BlueHost. Because of BlueHost’s exceptional support, and automated WordPress installation (through SimpleScripts, a service developed by a BlueHost employee, which tells you something about BlueHost), you can set up an account, register a domain name, and have a WordPress site – perhaps a blog, perhaps not, in less than half an hour.
(Via BlueHost and SimpleScripts you can also set up all manner of other website installations – here’s their script list – but this site is about setting up and modifying WordPress sites).
A disclosure about motivation: if you do set up a BlueHost account, and do it through one of the links here, I’ll make a few bucks. And since my main site, Popular Logistics, is about public health and disaster preparedness (and doesn’t generate any income), I’d be happy if you did. But – except for some information about how to set up a domain and account, and WordPress installation, the information here will be useful on any hosted WordPress site.
BlueHost is in no way responsible for the content on this site – all errors – and I expect there will be some - are mine. But I recommend them without hesitation: their prices are good, they answer their phones, nearly all the time, in seconds or minutes, and everyone’s polite and patient and well-informed (even if you’re not). They’ve yet to fail to solve a problem I presented to them – and while their support is limited to installation and setup, I’ve yet to encounter anyone at BlueHost technical support who split hairs and used the “installation/setup” limitation as a way to dodge a question or problem.
